Product Summary

If you are familiar with what goes in to make a Warehouse Management System, you might be surprised by what you find in this section.

The Standard Stuff

What you won’t find surprising is that CompassIM consists of software, and the software is hosted by Windows XP and later Windows operating systems, either stand-alone or in a network.

It is also true, like most other Warehouse Management Systems, that CompassIM supports mobile computers, also known as hand-helds, using Radio Frequency (RF) technology. You can also use attached bar code scanners and/or batch hand-helds, depending on your choice of operations.

The core software element of any WMS system is its collection of inter-related data files, including especially the company catalog, the inventory totals, and the warehouse locations files. CompassIM uses the Microsoft SQL Server database management system to store the data.

Each CompassIM installation comes with complete on-line Help. If you have a question about how to use a particular screen, click the Help button or press the F1 key, to bring up the answers.

The Special, and Optional, Stuff

  • If your business is third party logistics, you can manage multiple organizations' inventories at the same time.
  • You can communicate to and from your enterprise software for purchase orders, sales orders and inventory management.
  • You can interface with UPS and Fedex.
  • You can make your own custom modifications, or hire us to make them for you.
  • Each organization can have more than one warehouse, managed separately and together.
  • Inventories can be standard non-serialized, serialized, assets, assemblies, serialized assemblies, resources, containers, and shipments.
  • Each catalog item can have its own set of units of measure. A unit of measure set, for example, could consist of Eaches, Cartons, and Pallets.
  • Inventory is always located somewhere real. For example, when inventory, formerly located at bin location A-1-3, is pulled up for a pick operation, it becomes located at the user name or the pallet ID it is picked into.
  • You can configure your CompassIM system to fit your needs. The system does not require mobile hand-helds, for example. Plus, you can add organizations, locations, users and features individually. This makes your warehouse management system just right, and at the right price, for your actual operation.
